I’m very excited to share some news! I have been busy the last few weeks setting up my own firm, Washington Business Brokers LLC. There’s no change to my role as a business broker and partner to business owners except that I’ve added owner to my business card. In addition, I’m thrilled and thankful to have Glen Cooper as a strategic advisor and partner to WBB. Glen has sold 500+ businesses in his career and is a nationally recognized author and trainer in selling private businesses.
I come from a family of entrepreneurs. My parents closed on buying a bakery on December 31st, 1984 in Dayton, Ohio and were advised by a CPA to operate the business for a few hours before midnight to qualify for certain tax deductions. They made $40 in sales during their first ‘year’ as business owners. When they bought the business it was a 24/7 operation, my Dad worked every night but one the first year. My little brother was 1 year old at the time; my parents setup a playpen in the kitchen so they could keep an eye on him while they baked. Fast forward through many ups and downs, scores of incredible employees and customers that became family, and 34 years later my Dad sold the business to a long-time employee. Under new ownership it has thrived and grown into a second location a few miles away. Separately, just last week an uncle marked 25 years since he founded an aircraft equipment supplier. I’m excited and proud to continue this entrepreneurial tradition.
I’ll be sharing much more about Washington Business Brokers and how we help Pacific Northwest business owners in valuation, optimizing a business for sale, buyer identification and qualification, negotiation, deal structuring, and closing. We welcome the opportunity to earn your trust, learn more about your business and help you achieve your goals.
Onward and upward. Now – let’s do this!
